The Zen of Photography
Zenographer - Leon's made-up word that refers to the act of artistic and spiritual enlightenment through the meditative practice of image making. I hope my image making journey is more fruitful than my spiritual journey. I do love dried fruit. Maybe I'm more spiritual than I think.

ReplyDeleteI thought maybe I should leave something better than 2 emoticons! I think photography is a very zen thing. You're capturing the most fleeting, impermanent phenomena- LIFE. Minor White said something like, "do not leave until you have capture zee essence" or something like that. I think the best photographs have a trace of something bigger than just "what's around". Haha and don't even get me started about how photography is perfect for present moment awareness. I was into photography before I ever read a book about zen, only afterwards I was able to make a connection between the two. And what a delicious, juicy connection it is.
